Afterschool Care
Funded in part by the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County, the city offers free after-school programs, where students can complete their homework, play games, do crafts, go on field trips, learn sports and be entertained for the entire day.
The Ross Norton Recreation, Aquatic & Extreme Sports Complex caters to elementary school students and the North Greenwood Recreation Center is geared to middle and high school students. Students must live in Pinellas County to qualify, and free pickup is offered at select schools. Students enrolled in the scholarship program must attend a minimum of one hour per day and may not be absent for more than five days per month.
School’s Out Day Camps, Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break camp is free to students who participate in the after-school program. Need summer camp payment assistance? Provided in part by the Juvenile Welfare Board, the city of Clearwater offers summer camp programs at Ross Norton Recreation Complex and North Greenwood Recreation Complex for those who qualify for the afterschool program, for $50 for the summer.
To sign up, call Ross Norton or North Greenwood Recreation Center to find out if they have availability. If so, fill, print and bring the following form to the recreation center.
