Beach Parking

As of May 2022, the North Beach Parking Plaza is privately owned, and the new owners control the rates.

Beach visitors can continue to park in the North Beach Parking Plaza, which is located at 490 Poinsettia Ave. in Clearwater. 

In June 2021, the Clearwater City Council declared the city’s stake in the North Beach Parking Plaza to be surplus, for the purpose of sale. This property was then advertised for sale by public bid and awarded to the highest bidder. Legal challenges were raised that delayed the closing, but once these were resolved, the sale was finalized on May 6, 2022.

The difficult decision to sell was discussed at public meetings, where it was determined that the high operating expenses, compared to the low revenue the city received from our spaces, was not financially sustainable.  The city wishes the new owners the best of luck with the continued operation of the North Beach Parking Plaza.

You cannot stop, park or leave your vehicle standing for a period longer than 72 hours without making arrangements in advance with the parking division (per ordinance Sec. 30.096). Call (727) 562-4094 to make arrangements.
