Will you make at least one healthy choice every day?
The city of Clearwater strives to be a healthy place to live, learn, work and play:
Live AND Play: The Parks and Recreation Department oversees many aspects of the city that improve quality of life for residents and visitors, including parks, recreation centers, aquatic facilities, Clearwater Beach, environmental parks and lands, trails, co-sponsor groups, the Aging Well Center, athletic facilities, and world class events.
Learn: The city partners with local healthcare organizations, business and community partners to produce a monthly newsletter to highlight some of the healthy things happening in Clearwater.
Work: Along with supporting an employee wellness program for city employees, the city's Health and Well Being Specialist can assist Clearwater businesses with creating their own internal program.
The shared vision is making the healthy choice the easy choice.
A monthly newsletter will highlight healthy activities, recipes, and classes and recognize Clearwater businesses and schools that encourage healthy lifestyles.
Some things Clearwater has done recently include installation of a free outdoor fitness zone at Ed Wright Park near Ross Norton, new bike racks and bike fix-it stations along trails to encourage bike riding, and installing water fountains with bottle fillers to encourage hydration.
